Cardiovascular Medicine Clinical Programs
The Cardiovascular Medicine Division currently consists of fifteen cardiologists, fourteen of whom are full-time faculty within the Department of Internal Medicine. Cardiologists work closely with the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, which consists of four full-time faculty members, the Division of Pediatric Cardiology, which consists of three full-time faculty members, and the Department of Radiology. The practice of cardiovascular medicine at Missouri spans the full spectrum of invasive and non-invasive services, including:
- Cardiac catheterization (diagnostic and interventional)
- Echocardiography
- Electrophysiology (diagnostic and therapeutic)
- Cardiac pacing/implantable defibrillator devices
- Nuclear cardiology
- Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
- Inpatient cardiology services
- Outpatient cardiology services
- Preventive cardiology/cardiac rehabilitation
- Peripheral arterial percutaneous interventions
- Cardiac computerized tomographic angiography and magnetic resonance imaging
University of Missouri cardiologists conduct their clinical, research, and educational activities at University Hospital, the Harry S Truman Veterans Affairs Medical Center (located across the street from University Hospital), and Columbia Regional Hospital.
