The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at University Hospital is completely equipped to perform a wide array of diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, ranging from percutaneous coronary artery and peripheral vascular interventions to catheter-based closure of atrial septal defects. The University Hospital Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory contains three suites and is located immediately adjacent to the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. Over 1600 invasive cardiovascular procedures were performed in the University Hospital Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory in 2007. University of Missouri cardiologists also perform invasive procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratories at Columbia Regional Hospital (CRH) and the Harry S Truman Veterans Affairs Medical Center (HSTVAMC). In 2007, University of Missouri cardiologists performed over 500 invasive cardiovascular procedures at CRH and over 750 invasive cardiovascular procedures at the HSTVAMC.
