Continuing Education Opportunities for Health-Care Professionals
One of the center's main goals is to work with health-care colleagues to share knowledge about diabetes and other endocrine disorders. In addition to the following regularly scheduled meetings, there are frequently other opportunities to stay current on the latest diabetes information.
- Endocrine Case Conference. Tuesdays at 1 p.m. in the Cosmopolitan International Diabetes Center. One continuing education credit.
- Internal Medicine Grand Rounds. Thursdays at noon in MA217. One continuing education credit.
- Endocrine Journal Club (informal). First and third Fridays at 8:15 a.m. in the Cosmopolitan International Diabetes Center.
An Annual Diabetes Lecture is held in November during National Diabetes month and other lectures are held throughout the year. Contact F. Elaine Rehmer at (573) 882-2273 for updated information.

A semi-annual diabetes seminar is geared to provide continuing education opportunity for health-care professionals. Diabetes Management and Education: A Patient-Centered Approach is a course designed for staff nurses, dietitians and other health-care professionals who would like to update their knowledge and skills in caring for patients with diabetes. It is an 8-hour class offered twice yearly, and CEUs are available. The class is taught by certified diabetes educators. For information on the cost and class schedule, call (573) 882-4161.
