Missouri Digestive Health Center of Excellence
The mission of the University of Missouri Health Care's Digestive Health Center is to provide a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to digestive health for patients in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. Our physicians, nurses and researchers are highly trained and dedicated to provide the best possible digestive health care to our patients by offering six lines of service excellence.
The Missouri Digestive Health Center offers six areas of specialized services, which include:
- Advanced and therapeutic endoscopy
- Colorectal cancer screening
- Liver diseases
- Inflammatory bowel diseases
- Neuromuscular and swallowing disorders
- Nutritional sciences
The Center includes a newly renovated endoscopy suite at University Hospital, which houses the latest technology and advanced equipment for highly technical diagnoses and treatments of complex digestive disorders including:
- Endoscopic Ultrasound with fine needle aspirate
- Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection
- Endoscopic Mucosal Resection
- Advanced Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography
- Capsule endoscopy
The Missouri Digestive Health Center is only one of two centers in the United States to offer Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection. This procedure allows endoscopic removal of advanced colon polyps and early colon cancer. Also, our Center is the first in Missouri to offer Narrow Band Imaging and high-definition endoscopic procedures to treat digestive conditions.
At the Missouri Digestive Health Center, we value our patient’s privacy with private preoperative and recovery rooms. We offer open access appointment scheduling at our clinic and endoscopy suite for optimal convenience for our patients.
