Honors and Achievements:

  • Named "an internationally renowned scientist" by the National Institute of Health and received the National Torchbearer Award from the American Kidney Fund.
  • Developed the Peritoneal Equilibration Test, which has become a standard component of peritoneal dialysis care.
  • Dr. Twardowski holds several patents, which include the artificial kidney for daily hemodialysis, the Missouri Swan-Neck Catheter, the Pre-Sternal "Bathtub" Catheter, and the Hemodialysis Catheter. His relentless drive to refine, improve, and invent peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis technology keeps him active in research, publication, and speaking engagements throughout the year.
  • Chairs the International Symposium on Hemodialysis, which is a part of our Annual Conference on Dialysis.
